How to perform the standing military press

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding a barbell in the front rack position (across your shoulders, with your elbows high and palms facing upward). Engage your core and push the barbell straight overhead, fully extending your arms and keeping your wrists straight. Slowly lower the barbell back to the starting position, maintaining control throughout the exercise.
