How to perform the kipping pull up
- Hang from a bar with your palms facing away from your body. Kick your legs forward while simultaneously swinging your shoulders back. This will create momentum. Quickly kick your legs backward and pull your body up towards the bar using the momentum generated from the swing. Try to bring your chin over the bar. Lower yourself back down and repeat. Remember, the key to a kipping pull up is the swing or 'kip'. This is what generates the momentum to help you get your chin over the bar. The movement should be fluid and continuous, with one rep flowing into the next.
