How to perform the assisted pull up

  1. Use an assisted pull-up machine or a resistance band looped around the pull-up bar and your knees. Grip the bar with an overhand grip, hands shoulder-width apart. Hang with arms fully extended. Pull your body up towards the bar by squeezing your shoulder blades together and driving your elbows down. Lift your chin above the bar, then slowly lower yourself back down to the starting position. Repeat.
